1998 2.5RS Coupe RBP with about 136k on the body located in the South Bay (San Jose area). I bought it in 2009 with 120k; I have a pretty short commute.
Oh hey look, a member journal for more information!

The Mods
Driveline:
99/00 JDM GF8 swap (EJ205) + tranny w/ about 63k miles (~240 hp)
HKS downpipe
STI Catback (will probably be looking for something else soon, but for now I'm enjoying the sound this makes)
Suspension:
AGX Shocks
P1 Springs
Whiteline 20 mm RSB w/ hardened endlinks (looks like he gave me that back too)
Fender Braces
Brakes:
Subaru 4/2 pot calipers
Axxis Ultimate Pads
Stoptech Slotted Rotors
ATE Super Blue brake fluid
Exterior:
Crystal Clear Headlights (99-01)
Crystal Clear corner lights
Clear Sidemarkers
Pink I badge
V5/6 Front Bumper
V5/6 Wing
JDM Tails
Interior:
02/03 WRX seats
08 WRX shift knob + 2000 RS shift boot (gave me those back too)
Kenwood KDC-X994 Head Unit
WRX pedals
STI floormats
I also have an Invidia G200 catback exhaust that I bought off Nasioc in 2011 and literally never took the wrapping off (it has some scuffing; I can send you pics but I've never looked at it myself)
The Catch
Oh there's always a catch
- As you should know, this engine is OBD-I. This car was made later than 95' and thus will not pass smog legally
- Engine has piston slap which likely is not a real issue. I originally freaked out about it, but after further research learned that this is (or was) a fairly issue with Subarus; it goes away once warmed up and the pistons have expanded enough.
- Fuel cut under hard acceleration around 4500rpm (fine if you don't go full throttle). Likely spark plugs or vacuum leak (not sure on difficulty of fix)
- Exhaust leak; I can't imagine this being a tough fix
- Brakes squealing
- Left side marker does not blink, cruise control does not work (result of swap)
There's nothing else major, but likely I haven't thought up every little thing.
The Rest
It's an old car, but it's in good shape overall; In 4 years of ownership I've never had anything fail on me. I've been rear ended once (new bumper for me!) and side swiped someone in a parking lot (new front bumper for me!). I've had no check engine lights (besides not tightening the gas cap down enough)
I got a new car in August so this one has just been sitting while I have failed to make time to fix pretty much any of the things one might before trying to sell it; this is reflected in the price.
I want to sell it to someone who understands these cars, knows what they're buying and can appreciate it. It's going to be a little bit of work.
Asking
Whatever you think is fair. I'm not shipping or parting out.
