Well, **** it. I've had such shitty luck with this RS that I feel like I'm ready to call it quits. My loss, your gain, blah blah blah.
History
Purchased the car off a user from this forum back in November of 2012. Second owner, and had owned it from '02 when it had 60k on the clock. He drove it to 150k. I offered him money, and bam! I had a RS. Came with service records, drove like you wouldn't believe. Everything was awesome. I drove the car for several months, until July 13th, 2013, when lower idle pulley froze, and sheared the timing belt. T-belt went, pistons found their way to the valves, and that was that. Instead of fixing the engine, I went a found a new(er) ej251 with around 100k miles on it. I had my mechanic get the heads decked and valve stem seals done, new headgaskets put in, and all fresh timing gear. Dropped the engine into the car, and that's when it didn't do what it's supposed to.
The Issue
The engine turns over, runs for a bit, but get waaaay too much fuel. It will idle at a very low RPM for a few moments before it kills itself from overfueling. The issues we've found is that at idle, or maybe 300 rpm, there is a hard signal going to the injectors to tell them to let a lot of fuel in. Doing a light test on the injectors shows a bright light. We've checked pretty much every god damn thing in existence that we can think of, but haven't remedied it. Sensor, Ecu, wiring, etc. Nothing
The Good
The Bad
The picture you see below shows a roof rack. That's mine. You can't have it. I do have more parts and pieces on the RS that will not go with the vehicle. I also have additional parts that I will sell with the vehicle. Just ask.
Here's the price, and it'll seem a bit ridiculous, but....
$4000 OBO, or trade for SF Forester 5spd (2000-2001)
Why? Because everything on the car is there, it's ready, and it's waiting, but for the life of myself, my mechanic(s), and my wallet, I don't want it anymore. Here's the opportunity to have what was a fanatastic RS that turned on every day, did things very very well, and had zero issues until **** hit the preverbal fan. So, you figure out my issue, you get an RS for pretty cheap.
