Ok So I am sure that some of my questions are noob questions, and others are a little more indepth and technical. So I am going to just save myself some time and condense this into one thread.
So after alot of thought and pondering on what I wanted my next car/project/obsession to be, I fell inlove with the idea of an rsti/22b copy. Like most on here who are after a 99-01 impreza RSTI build, they are planning on doing an engine swap and a series of other mods. So my question to you is, if I am going to do an engine swap, what would be the most practical engine to use in a swap, and what work would be involved in an engine swap(I know its alot easier said than done). What Motor should I use? What other parts will I need? How do I wire it to work with the stock RS dash and such? Will I have to do something with the ECM?
I know all these questions can be answered with extensive research and reading, but I really just want to know what I am getting into here with thinking about taking on a project like this. The vibe I am getting when people talk about these swaps is that they're no big deal and its something that can be done on the weekend in a garage, but the more and more I look at build threads, that doesnt seem to be the case.
EDIT: also any suggestions for tasteful mods to start out are appreciated as well.
