I have a freshly rebuilt ej251 with all stock size ej251 internals... I was thinking about turboing it, and I have read everything possible about the low 5 psis in the NA 2.5... If I wanted to go higher boost would replacing just the pistons lower the compression? I know the rs rods are 1.6 mm longer then the sti/wrx, but how much does that increase compression? Would just switching the pistons lower the compression? By how much? Or if there is a formula that can help me figure that out I wouldn't mind doing the math myself...
The reason why I want to do this is that I wouldn't mind saving the money and time to split the block... And I can swap pistons without splitting the case... All my gaskets are about 6k old and so are my bearings...
