Hey again! lol. So recently replaced head gaskets on my 2001 rs 2.5 and there is a problem.
-on a cold start the car idles and drives fine, once the motor is warm while driving it chokes and looses power. It does not set a dtc right away, actually takes about 20min.. I get codes for misfires on cyl 2 and 4.
-im not surprised because while installing the T-belt I found there to be no timing mark on the passenger side head and had to "guesstimate" unfortunately and I think this is what happens? question being why is there no timing mark on the head to match the cam pulley to? anyone have any other methods of alignment? I spun the motor after I pulled the tensioner pin and there was no interference so I don't think it can be off by much.. I know there's multiple write ups and I have seen some good ones however if I managed to do it wrong I don't believe they are that good lol!
Any input? also valves were adjusted at the engine shop and I re-checked the clearances myself. all ok.
