05 RS intake manifold on 03 block

Hi Everyone.

I've been lurking for a couple weeks searching for an answer to my question, but can't find anything so I guess I have to start a new thread.

I have a 2005 RS that has a spun rod bearing. Car is still running for now, so I picked up an EJ251 out of a 03 Impreza TS (spun rod bearing), planning on rebuilding it and dropping it in to my car. After picking up the 03 engine, I realized that the intake manifolds are different. I know that 05 was a transition year and some 05s came with 253s, and some came with 251s.

Code on 05 (currently in car) - EJ251BW5AB
Code on 03 (currently not in car) - EJ251BW4AB

My question is; can I rebuild the 03 engine, and just swap the intake manifold from the 05 when I switch the engines?

If anyone has an answer, or can point me to somewhere I can look for one that would be great!
