Went to change the PCV valve on our 2004 Forester today.. removed the valve.. found this...

The 'valve' is essentially just a straight through bung. Would have replaced it, but the one I ordered ended up not being the correct threads. Looks like the one in there was not clogged, but it's not even a valve.
Confused.
I'll take it this is not normal? I guess it's possible a shop drilled it our or something. It looked like it hasn't been removed though. The valve portion was not stuck in the tube or intake manifold.
