Uppipe Choice (Specific)

Yes, I searched. I know all too much about uppipes now. My 2004 still has the stock one.

A local performance shop has an STI takeoff for $80, plus the cost of install, about $380 total. I'm having it done there either way, so disregard the labor portion.

Option number two is aftermarket. Looks like I can get one for $100-150 shipped, probably used. Pros, bigger pipe, less bends, possibly more power, but the larger pipe may decrease spool time in comparison to the smaller STI one. Grimmspeed tests show aftermarket ones flow significantly better than even STI catless ones. I'd be taking the aftermarket one to the same said shop for install - just making this one easy for myself. Cons: extra wait time to find it, not really sure it's THAT much better at only stage 2 power levels.

It's not about the money, but more about waiting for one, or finding one. I'd like to get it swapped out ASAP as it's a daily driver. Other mods: Cobb turboback, OTS tune, SF intake, after MAF hose. Not looking for any other power upgrades down the line. Might be replacing y-pipe and other assorted hoses for reliability sake.

What do you choose? Will I actually feel anything different between the two?
