Storing a car until December?

The head gasket on my '01 RS went. I had plans for a WRX swap, but I won't be doing that until after I rebuild the WRX engine at school this fall. So I decided not to bother doing the head gaskets, which means the car will be sitting outside (i don't have space for it in my garage) for a good 8-9 months. I will be purchasing a car cover, and I will park it on a tarp, but what else should I do to make sure it doesn't rot? The tires will be replaced anyway.
