PARTS FOR SALE
41. '05 WRX EJ205 intake manifold (Fits '02-07): Freshly powder coated red, never installed, PnP'ed: $215 obo
It looks like a used intake manifold goes for about $125. Since this one has a fresh paint job, and since a PnP job costs $150 at Grimmspeed, this is how I base the price. This was not on the car when the engine let out.(although these were done by my friends autobody shop, look great though check out the photos below). This piece of art is boxed up with bubble wrap and ready to ship!

'02-07 WRX 4 pot caliper: Rebuilt and freshly powder coated- $210 obo
These are $555 for a set, found here: Subaru 4-Pot Brake Upgrade
So the cost of one would be $277.50, which is how I base the price.
The rebuilt one was done with a 4 pot rebuilt kit ($40), and was tested after the work was done to make sure the pistons were moving freely.

Rebuilt/Powdercoated one:

4 Pot caliper that needs to be rebuilt- OBO
The other caliper (which was on the same car as the rebuilt one, so it has a lot of potential, but it needs to be repainted and rebuilt, the piston is seized at the moment just like the other one was. But they connected it to a car, and the pressure of the pedal freed the piston up. I am confident that the same method would do the same exact thing to this one)

Story:
I rebuilt this 2005 WRX EJ205 in Dec 2011 and it only ran for 6000-7000 miles (read below). I am hurting after this unfortunate EJ205 build so please, no low ball offers unless you actually intend to get the part for a fair and competitive price (based on what other similar parts are selling for). However, all prices are best offer. You can also combine parts and get a discount.

Reason for engine failure:
How did this happen? Who knows. I did not drop anything in there. But all parties are saying that. My car had all of its work done by one shop, but then was diagnosed by 2 different shops when it first started having idle issues.

From the shop that diagnosed it:
"We tore your engine down yesterday and removed the cylinder heads. I have attached a few pictures so you can see the damage. It appears that one or two foreign steel objects went into the engine and ended up in cylinders #3 and #4. On cylinder #4 it appears that it came in through the intake valves and was pounded between the head and piston a few times, you can see clear imprints on the piston top and in the cylinder head. From there, it probably fell to the exhaust side where it got caught between the head and piston again. It also seems to have marred the cylinder liner there and broken the piston top as you can see in the pictures. At this point we inspected the exhaust to see if we could find the piece, but there was nothing in the manifold or uppipe. We did find some bends on the turbine wheel inducer by looking into the inlet of the turbine, but there was nothing in the turbo and it seems to spin fine with no excessive shaft play. After this we pulled the other head off and found a similar situation in cylinder #3. You can see in the pictures that there is a piece of steel embedded in the #3 piston top, it seems to have stuck there before falling to the exhaust side like cylinder #4.

We looked through the intake manifold and the cold side of the intercooler to see if anything was missing but everything seemed to be there, so unfortunately I can't tell you what exactly went into the engine. I think it goes without saying that we can't reasonably be expected to cover any of this as warranty work."
