For anyone who may have dealt with compressor surge with big turbos...
So after replacing the destroyed CHRA on my TD06SL2 20G, I've discovered that I'm still getting surge in top gear at roughly 3000 rpm at 75-100% throttle. It comes out of it in higher revs, likely when it gets into the cam a little more.
This is not related to the BOV, as this occurs under load, not between shifts. And my BOV has the soft spring and is set to the softest possible setting. It doesn't flutter between shifts at all.
It is not bad surge, I'm pretty sure it's right on the surge line. But letting this go is asking to replace the CHRA if not the whole turbo, again.
Are my only options EBC or Anti Surge housings?
Relevant parts list:
-2.35l (2.2T stroker) With 251 heads
-Delta 1500 cams
-TD06SL2 20G turbo (Kinugawa)
-Boost controlled by .8 BAR/10psi actuator, turbo is hooked directly to it with no control valve
-Modified TMIC
-GReddy Type RS BOV with soft spring and on softest setting
Help?
